Der im 17. Jahrhundert von Martin Bernigeroth gefertigte Kupferstich zeigt in einem Oval ein Porträt (Brustbild) von Christophorus Cellarius (eig. Christoph Martin Keller, 1638-1707), seit 1688 Rektor der Domschule in Merseburg und seit 1694 Professor für Geschichte und Rhetorik an der Friedrichs-Universität zu Halle a. d. Saale. Der Oberkörper ist nach halbrechts, das Gesicht ist frontal dargestellt. Der Blick geht zum Betrachter. Unterhalb des Porträts steht in einem Rahmen folgende Inschrift: "CHRISTOPHORVS CELLARIVS NA. SMALCALDIÆ CDDCXXXVIII X KALEND. DECEMBR." Die Jahresangabe 1638 bezieht sich auf das Geburtsjahr von Cellarius. Links unterhalb des Inschriftrahmens steht "M. Bernigeroth sc."
